UGC NET 2024 Application

UGC NET 2024 Application Eligibility Criteria
Eligibility Criteria is one of the most important sections. It provides information regarding the eligibility criteria which need to be fulfilled to be able to appear for the exam. Please note that no applications of candidates who do not fulfill the mentioned conditions will be accepted by the concerned authority. - Candidates belonging to the general and EWS category must have scored at least 55% marks in the post-graduation or its equivalent.
- Students belonging to the SC, ST, OBC-NCL, PWD, and Third Gender categories must have scored at least 50% marks in the post-graduation or its equivalent.
- Please note that there is no upper age limit for candidates who are applying for UGC-NET for Assistant Professor and admission to PhD.
- The maximum age limit of candidates applying for JRF must not be more than 30 years old on the 1st day of the month in which the examination is concluded i.e. 1st June 2024.

ugcnet.nta.ac.in Syllabus and Exam Pattern
In the following section, we have mentioned details regarding the syllabus and exam pattern of the UGC NET. Candidates who are applying for the exam should check the following section as it will help them with the exam preparation:
- The authority will conduct the exam in the OMR-Based mode only.
- There will be a total of two papers in the exam.
- Both question papers will have objective-type, multiple-choice questions.
- No break will be provided between both papers.
- Paper 1: There will be a total of 50 questions. Each question will carry two marks which means that the question paper will be of 100 marks. The officials will assess the teaching and research aptitude. The paper will be prepared to check threading comprehension, general awareness, reasoning ability, and more.
- Paper 2: There will be a total of 100 questions. The question paper will be of 200 marks. This means each question will carry 2 marks. The paper will be based on the subject opted by the candidate and will check the domain knowledge.
- Candidates will have to complete the exam in 3 hours i.e., 180 minutes.
